Kanye, eat your heart out.

Zack Skerritt is a dreamer and a schemer who, if forced to describe himself in two words, would say, “world nomad savant”.

Zack has no epic credentials to date.  No great people have said great things about him (on or off the record), and no one has published his books (written or unwritten).  He has never won a Nobel prize in anything, he has never studied under anybody who has, and he doesn’t have any plans to do so in the near future.  Strangely he has never been invited to speak at any of the world’s most innovative organizations, and even more strangely nobody took notes on what he had to say.  We would say that he’s never been featured by any media outlet world wide, but that would not be 100% accurate as he has, in fact, made the back page of the prestigious publication The Pacific Daily News on several occasions, an honor even the greats like Tim Ferriss, Aristotle, and Paris Hilton can not claim to date.  Of him, Wikipedia has this to say:

The page “Zack Skerritt” does not exist. You can ask for it to be created, but consider checking the search results below to see whether the topic is already covered.”

Zack has, however, done one or two interesting things with his 27 years on planet earth.  They include but are not limited to:

  • traveling to over 40 countries on 5 continents
      • living in Guam, the UK, China, and Australia
      • hula-hooping for over a minute at a pirate-punk rock charity gig in Australia
      • having a degree in civil engineering from the University of Brighton and an illustrious career as a structural engineer
      • eating pig-brain regularly in Sichuan, China.
      • running a sub 4 hour marathon

  • being a qualified skydiver with the British Parachute Association and the Australian Parachute Federation
  • founding TBA Brews, a beer brewing co-operative in Melbourne, Australia
  • holding a PADI rescue scuba diving certification
  • having two very crooked pinky fingers
  • Speaking (at any one time) more than one language

Besides being a traveler and an all-round nice young man, Zack is also an avid outdoorsman and self-professed “man-scout”.  He enjoys backcountry backpacking, rock-climbing, mountain biking, fire building, and chest thumping.  He also sails, windsurfs and once was able to spearfish.  In his free time he likes to read books that have really clever things to say, like the Harry Potter series.

Zack also occasionally writes, and once in a while he has something worth saying.

Hi Zack! Your blog is very inspiring! My friend, Michelle, told me the story behind the creation of your blog! It’s so awesome, and I may just follow in your footsteps! Who wouldn’t want to ride a bike down a 450 km road and get hit by a truck?

But seriously, I think you are definitely living a fulfilling life.

Thanks Sirena, you should definitely give it a go if you feel the lure of the road!
